Satellite equipment is expensive. In most instances, it is free for you to have the equipment upgraded and establish service if required criteria to set up an account is met by you. There are situations where additional services such as high definition, digital video recorders or other techniques may be provided depending on the service provider.
Repairs are expensive. Just like any other services, the equipment may need to be serviced or repaired with a view of enhancing better performance. In so doing, what you will need to do is getting an additional support with protection plan inserted in the agreement. Be aware that these plans offer discounts and all equipment are covered under warranty. Inclusive of such plans is a 24/7 telephone support service either for billing or technical support. In addition to this, you have online access which is aimed at guiding you for trouble shooting should there be a need for it.
No upgrade for existing customers. This is not correct in all its ramification, satellite TV providers offer discounted upgrades on services such as high definition and digital video recordings. As an existing customer, you must review your account and meet the criteria for the upgrade.
Limited Viewing to one room. Customers are afforded the opportunity of having the same program viewed in a different room in the house all at the same time and in High Definition.
Service Interruption when it rains or storms. Outages are rarely experienced in a year. It could not go beyond 1% of a professionally installed satellite dish that will experience this, and within splits seconds, satellite TV view is restored.
It is, therefore, my candid submission that you do not allow yourself to be sway by any of these myths, rather get to know how your satellite functions.
